-
The Brief
Transform an existing Victorian sub-terranean public convenience into a wine and charcuterie bar whilst keeping as much of the existing character as possible.
-
The Challenge
As the site is a Grade II listed property we had strict boundaries to adhere to so using the existing materials, disrupting as little of the existing finishes as possible and still providing a welcoming venue was paramount.
-
The Solution
Working closely with the Client and Designers a concept was approved ensuring the main character of the space was maintained and, although retaining many features which gave a nod to the venue's previous use, the right outcome was achieved.
-
The Result
A beautiful space with a very honest finish which enhanced the existing details and transformed them into a very pleasant location indeed. In using existing materials, and concentrating on only bringing in authentic additional items to enhance the project, we were able to not only retain the Victorian character but also maintain a very strict budget by being very imaginative with what we already had.
